Evaluation

EVALUATION PLAN

Now that we have completed our music video production and ancillary tasks, the final part of the project is our evaluation. In evaluating our products as well as our pre-production we have been given the following questions, which need to be answered in our evaluation.

In what ways does you media product use, develop or challenge the codes and conventions of real media products?
How effective is the combination of your main product and the ancillary texts?
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation stages of your project?

Here is one of my first Power Points which presents my evaluation. In this 1st PowerPoint I am going to explain how our group has challenged, developed or followed the conventions of are chosen genre. The reason why I have chosen to present the majority of my evaluation in PowerPoint form is so that it makes it more interactive for viewers to read through.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
As a group, we have set out to make our main product, a music video, and ancillary tasks, which include a Digi pack and an advert poster. We aimed to make ours as professional as possible by examining what real solo artists do, We done this my conducting research which is featured on my Ancillary task page and music video research page. Firstly, we looked at the themes shared between the all three products. We noticed that they all had the same 'feel' to them in terms of colours and mood of the footage, For example for our main product we incorporated the fun and light heartedness in both the video and ancillary task. However the themes of the music video and the ancillary tasks should be very much separate. The video is based around the song and the song is part of the album which is it's own theme in itself. However, to ensure that we had a certain degree of continuity, one of the outfits that were used in the music video was also used for the album cover and inserts, we also made sure that we captured the fun, teenage feel of the music video by using confrontation as a stereotype but put a fun, humored twist to it.

From our research we realised that the current bands we looked at had a three colour rule for within their album cover and advert poster. Therefore our group decided that it was best to follow the conventions of that rule, which we then decided to Red,Black and white as our main colour scheme. As you can see this colour scheme is consistent throughout but it is less obvious in the advert poster because we didn't want them to look identical, however its does have the three colours which we have incorporated in the digit pack.

The photos which were taken also work really well with our main product as the photos in the digi pack reflects the two personalities within the music video, me taking on a more serious role, and Craig seeming more fun. However in the advert poster both me and Craig struck poses which reflects the genre overall and gives of that feeling of humor and freedom which is consistently incorporated in our music video

In this PowerPoint I am going to talk about how we have learned from our audience research and explain how this has helped us in our portfolio.

In this PowerPoint I am going to explain in what ways new media technologies have helped me in the four stages of our portfolio. The four stages are construction, research, planning and evaluation.
